Welcome to a new season!

A warm welcome to those returning to St James for a new season, and also to those parents and children who are playing for Coledale for the first time. We can’t wait to get back out on the pitch.

Here’s some dates for the diary:

Sunday 21st March Meet The Coach (all U6-U11) 2pm @ St James

It’ll be great for everyone to get together before the start of the season for a kick. Bring boots and get ready to meet your coach and manager for the season. Your coach/manager will be in touch during the week with more details. The canteen will be open too! Talking of the canteen, you can pre-order socks, shorts and hoodies etc. online at Coledale Waves Shop, and pick up from the canteen this Sunday.

Simply order here: https://coledalewaves.com.au/shop/

Who are we?

We are a friendly, fun and community driven junior football club, based in beautiful Coledale, in the northern suburbs of Wollongong.

From small beginnings back in 1999, our club has grown into one of the largest in the Illawarra and continues to go from strength to strength.

We have almost 400 junior players, from under 6s through to under 17s. Our club philosophy is ‘football for everyone’ and everyone is welcome at St James Park, home ground for our girls’, boys’ and mixed teams. We encourage everyone to join in and play regardless of ability and experience.

How we roll!

Our club is a registered sporting association and is run completely by volunteers. We have a strong committee of about 30 volunteers, which oversees the key roles. But we also rely on parents and carers to help on game day and with training sessions.

It’s important to acknowledge that our kids only get to play the beautiful game thanks to the generosity and commitment of our volunteers.

Many hands do make light work and there is an expectation that if your child plays for the club you help whenever you can.

In the Pink - Supporting the McGrath Foundation

From the 2018 season, all our players from under 8 upwards will adopt pink socks to match our new pink shirts, in support of the McGrath Foundation and to help raise awareness of breast cancer. See recent article

Shop - In the Pink - Merchandise

From the 2018 season, you can buy the new “In the Pink” merchandise directly on our website in support of the McGrath Foundation and to help raise awareness of breast cancer. Find Coledale hoodies, shorts, socks and more at our new Online Shop

Wet Weather

Extended rain can lead to ground closures and games being cancelled. Most of the grounds we play on are Council run. You can check the Wollongong Council website page for ground closures.
