Coaching Courses for 2018
Football South Coast (FSC) regularly run training courses which are designed for specific age groups and are in line with Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) National Football Curriculum’s training building blocks.
The grassroots certificate is also great for parents of players just starting out in club football as it teaches that kids should be experimenting and having fun with the game, rather than being ‘coached’, so if you can encourage parents to attend this will not only help you as a coach but the overall attitude from parents on the sideline.
Course information and registration can be found at FSC’s upcoming courses page on their website.
Another great resource for coaches is FFA’s coaching resources, which is a training guide based around the National Curriculum. There are programs available to help plan and guide you through your sessions.
Grassoots Licence – (5-9 Year Old Players)
Course Fee – FREE
Known as the ‘Discovery Phase’
The three hour course is fully practical and encourages the coach to develop practices that are based on FUN. The emphasis is on natural development i.e learning by PLAYING football. No coaching but organising FUN football exercises is the key to helping players build a love for the game. Another highlight of the course is that coaches are exposed to basic rules of the game as well as tips and hints on building a football culture in a completely practical setting.
Course information and registration can be found on the upcoming courses page of the FSC website.
