Presentation dates and thanks team Coledale

Wonderful Waves,

This is just a quick note to say a massive thanks to our executive committee, key officers, age managers, team coaches, managers and most importantly all our players for a fantastic season.

Coledale has continued to thrive in 2019, but this has only been possible through all your amazing hard work, dedication, time and sportsmanship. Thank you again.

Fun, enjoyment and inclusiveness are at the heart of our club. And even though we don't take things too seriously, this season our efforts have been rewarded with our U13 boys, U14-2 girls and our U15 boys all progressing to the finals. Please wish them luck!

I'm sure everyone's looking forward to a well earned break, but before you all start to focus on summer, here are the final two dates for your diaries and a couple of important committee requests:

PRESENTATION EVENTS
- Small sided game presentation morning (U6 - U11)
9.30am, Saturday September 21 at St James Park

- Competition team's presentation afternoon (U12 - U15)
2pm, Saturday September 21 at Wombarra Bowlo

ACTION REQUIRED FROM TEAMS
Kit Return: It's important team managers collect all kits from players prior to their relevant event and return their pink bags on the day to Lisa Metcalfe or Connor Grennan.
U12+ Player's Player nominations: Can each team manager please ensure competition player's player nominations for U12 upwards are gathered this week and then a winning name along with team reference be emailed to lisa.metcalfe@bigpond.com by this Sunday, September 1st so there's sufficient time to engrave the trophies.

So, see you on presentation day and in the meantime best wishes for an awesome summer.

Catch you in 2020 for more of the beautiful game in the most beautiful part of the world!
Vinnie Taylor
President

Who are we?

We are a friendly, fun and community driven junior football club, based in beautiful Coledale, in the northern suburbs of Wollongong.

From small beginnings back in 1999, our club has grown into one of the largest in the Illawarra and continues to go from strength to strength.

We have almost 400 junior players, from under 6s through to under 17s. Our club philosophy is ‘football for everyone’ and everyone is welcome at St James Park, home ground for our girls’, boys’ and mixed teams. We encourage everyone to join in and play regardless of ability and experience.

How we roll!

Our club is a registered sporting association and is run completely by volunteers. We have a strong committee of about 30 volunteers, which oversees the key roles. But we also rely on parents and carers to help on game day and with training sessions.

It’s important to acknowledge that our kids only get to play the beautiful game thanks to the generosity and commitment of our volunteers.

Many hands do make light work and there is an expectation that if your child plays for the club you help whenever you can.

In the Pink - Supporting the McGrath Foundation

From the 2018 season, all our players from under 8 upwards will adopt pink socks to match our new pink shirts, in support of the McGrath Foundation and to help raise awareness of breast cancer. See recent article
